Business Intelligence

Corporate managers no longer want to simply analyse their customers’ behaviours; they want to tap the wealth of data at their disposal to anticipate them as well. In just a few years, we have shifted from data intelligence to so-called data science, with the arrival of big data combined with the availability of numerous proprietary algorithms for predictive analysis. In order to support this goal, the fields of decision-support analysis have evolved. ETL tools that make it possible to retrieve, consolidate, and prepare data for analysis have been joined by bulk data acquisition modules. Current reporting tools have gained data visualisation features that allow them to display information in the form of graphs, maps, interactive presentations, hypothesis generation, and more. Finally, a growing number of "self-serve” BI tools enable any user to quickly and easily log into online services in order to elucidate trends and build their own “narrative” from the data.
